Border Crossings

We’ve documented our experiences of the border crossings through Central and South America between 2012/2013.  Hopefully the information will be helpful for anyone who is on a similar route!

  1. Hi Guys
I just want to say thank you for this great post. We just crossed the Nicaragua/Costa Rica border and did it by following your description. The pictures where a great help and made it even easier. One minor thing, the Costa Rica insurance cost us 30$/bike, maybe they increased the price recently.

    Cheers

    • Hi Bjoern and Sigrid, glad to hear that the border crossing info came in handy!
We hope you are enjoying the trip so far! How are you crossing the Darien gap?

      • We crossed the gap on the 14. January with the Stahlratte. It was an adventure, particular the loading (via hollow tree trunk) and unloading of the motorcycles (Jesus ride). We are currently on our way to Ecuador. Enjoy the Spanish lessons.
